Self guided hiking trip in the Salzkammergut region of Austria.
Basically I hiked from town to town in the region staying at different inns and finally ended up traveling to Vienna by train. Some of the towns/villages visited included:
- Saint Wolfgang
- Bad Ischl
- Bad Goisern
- Hallstatt
- Bad Aussee
It was a very cool trip, the Salzkammergut region is very beautiful and known for its numerous glacial lakes, quaint towns, and lush mountainous terrain.
Met lots of interesting folks along the way who were friendly and helpful.
When I finally got to Vienna, ended up doing a bit of traditional site-seeing including:
- Saint Stephen’s Cathedral
- Volksgarten
- Schönbrunn Palace
